Legacy Designer Susan Pilon updated a dark, outdated oak kitchen with a bright, fresh look and functional storage accessories. The light perimeter cabinet colour and under cabinet lighting gives the space an open, modern look. Tall upper cabinets and glass door inserts complement the tall ceilings visually and offer additional storage space.
The dark island provides a nice contrast and includes hidden push-touch storage cabinets to the left and right of the bar seating.
Susan created a unique tall pantry with a functional and decorative design. She gave it a built-in look and turned it toward the living room to tie the two rooms together. The client can display artistic pieces on top and hide cookbooks, vitamins and other odds-and-ends in the bottom drawers. She also loves that the light switches are tucked out of sight in the corner along the electrical outlets and phone.
Some other functional details that our client loves:
- Garbage and recycling pull outs.
- Spice rack on the inside of the pantry door.
- Drawer accessories including cutlery tray and drawer dividers.
